What's new

New iPad 2 for Christmas, what should I do now?

Hello Everyone,

I am Inventor, and I just got a new iPad2 in the box.

I have not opened it yet, I just want to know if I should keep it or get the new one?

Mine is the Wifi 16GB basic unit w/no cell 3G.

My sister gave it to me, I just want to know if the iPad2 is a good unit
or would it be better to get the newer unit?

If I leave the unit sealed it will be returnable?

I have the new iphone 4s and a mac Pro Tower and the Apple Airport
wireless hub.

Any help would be kind.

I don't like upgrading things without reading first.
Thanks, Inven

My sister would want me to get what I would like.

It pays to ask questions before ripping into the package.

If she bought it at a discount store like a Sams Club,
she would need to return it where she bought it, 'm sure.

I like the idea of the new screen and the camera options.

The iPad 2 is a fine piece of kit but if you'd feel happier upgrading (and it sounds as if you would) then go it. It is always hard for us to tell you what to do without knowing your current and future needs.

I have no clue because I have never used one before, and I really don't need a
phone option.

This may work just fine, I just would like to know the os5 vs. os6 feedback
and is the new unit worth the extra 250.00 US.

I will prob use it for photo display on the road.

In my van I have a Computer RAM mount swing-arm
that will adjust to any position in the front dash area of the van.

I would think the map feature would be good.

I don't do facebook or twitter or even text for that matter,
life is way too short to waste time with all that when you can call
someone on a phone and make it quick.

I laugh at all these celebs who waste hours of their life on this
stupid twitter network, looking to see how many people watch them.
When they get older they will wish for all this time back.

To sum it up, I will not use the iPad very much because I use the computer the most,
but I do like to show pics on the road and the iphone screen is too small.

stand-up tea,
Inven

Although with wifi only the maps function on the road won't work unless you hotspot. You also do not have a GPS in that iPad, you need the cellular data one to get the GPS chipset.
