Newbie lost the click!

hi all
Sure that there's a simple answer but.........
Handed the Air to a friend to look at something and realised later that it no longer clicked when the case is shut, whooshes for sent mail or clicks when the camera "shutter" is pressed.!
Tried Settings and volume etc but no joy!
Any ideas?

Hi, welcome to iPF!

What is selected in Settings (app) - General - Use Side Switch to: if it is Mute, then look at the side switch (the button next to the Volume buttons). If you see the part where it's red, toggle it to the other side to enable system sounds again.

Next thing to look at: Control Center. Slide it upwards from the bottom. Maybe it's muted there, in case the side switch is set to lock rotation. You'll find the button in the middle at the right. It's a crossed out bell. If it's white, it's enabled. Tap it to disable it.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Have in fact solved it but not sure how! Played with everything that looked as though it might have some relevance , nothing showed red or seemed to be turned down/off but suddenly realised that the click was back!
