Here are a few suggestions:
After updating, reset your device: press and hold Home and Power button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Release both and let the iPad power up.
Restart it once more - turn it off and on again.
Force close the app: double press the Home button to show the multitasking bar, then slide the thumbnail above the app icon towards the top of the screen.
