I learn fukien at home, we speak that language cause my parents are chinese. When outside i speak tagalog, cause i was born i grew up here. we have mandarin class at school from elementary to high school but still i'm not good at it. well it's not bad you only knew english, that's a universal language anyway.

I want to learn Spanish. I should be more latin American.

Ah! I see. You're lucky to have learnt one of the Chinese languages... They're like French. They can be very difficult to learn if they aren't taught to you in your youth. I'm guessing tagalog would be difficult for me to learn as well. It looks a lot like a mixture of letters and Chinese symbols.

Chinese is a very complex language, as intonation plays an important part in the meaning of words. So for example the word 'cake' can have four different intonation patterns which lead to four different meanings.. Mandarin has seven . French does not have that and is easier to learn in that respect.

Also, has anybody heard? India is finally starting to climb out of the gutter. I'm so happy for them.

Ohh I love coconut. Fresh coconut straight from the tree..... Will have to wait til October when I visit my son and hope the street trees have some coconuts on them. Yum!

Yup. Since I was able to maintain both languages as a child. Now, thanks to my understanding of both languages, I have a whole lot of job opportunities. Always looking for French people in my city.
