Hey guys,

New member here...

I wonder if you can help me... I'd like to know if there's a way to transfer a PDF file to my GoodReader App?

Thanks in advance!

Yea, from iBooks open the document and then email it to yourself. From Mail you can "open in" GoodReader

If you have PDF books on your laptop, you just e-mail it to yourself and then press the PDF in the e-mail until it asks where to put it and choose Goodreader. I love Goodreader! It's my favourite reader after iBooks. Basically, iBooks for ePub and Goodreader for PDF.

Hey thanks so much for your replies... I tried emailing it to myself via iBooks, but it seems that due to (what I can only guess) the size of the PDF file the "open in" option does not appear on this particular file as it would on other smaller size files.

Sorry i hit send accidentally there..

So the file contains 400 pages. This is the only file that doesn't have that email option. Any idea as to how i can get around this prob?

If its a PDF in iBooks, the email sign will appear. If its an ePub, it will not show up. In my experience, anyway.

I seem to be having the same problem. I have emailed it to myself multiple times and it continues to say file it too large. I was under the impression that good reader did not have a file size limit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

GoodReader says the file is too are or your email program? Some files are too large to go through email.

IMO, it is risky to import PDFs into iBooks. As you guys have seen, there is only one way to get them out, via email. It doesn't support the "Open In" dialog though you can transfer files into iBooks this way. Worse yet, if you do a backup, iBooks won't backup your PDF files, so if you backup and and restore, all of your PDFs will be gone. It might be worth trying to connect the iPad to a PC via the sync cable and seeing if you can copy them to your PC. Then move them back into to GoodReader. GoodReader will backup your stuff and when you restore, it will be there.
