Playing tracks one at a time

I hope I'm not getting into territory that's already been covered, but I have a question that's got me beat! How can I set up an iPad 2 so that it doesn't automatically start playing the next song as one finishes? I want to use the iPad for a radio show, but I need it to play the song I've selected, then... ...stop. As soon as the song finishes, it starts playing the next one in the playlist / library.

Is there a setting I've missed?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome! If you only want one track to play, simply create a Playlist or Smart Playlist, call it "Radio Show" or something you'll remember. When the time comes, tap on the list/song and play it. You can create as many Playlists as you like with one or however many songs you want in them.

You can create the Playlist in iTunes on your computer and sync with your iPad or you can create it directly on your iPad in the Music App. Open the Music App, tap on Playlists, tap on "New" in the upper right-hand corner, name the Playlist and then all of the available songs on your iPad will be listed. Pick the song or songs you want in that list. That's it! More here:

Hope that helps!

Unfortunately, this does not help. I also have a radio show and to play one playlist with one song is too time consuming for a radio show which relies on fast change over between songs and sources. We need to be able to stop play after each song. I bought my iPad for use on my radio show and I am now unable to use it for this purpose. There must be a way of stopping continuous play. Can any body assist? Suzi.
