Question about calendar

Hello I am fairly new to IPad technology as well as having a new Droid phone. I would like to have my calendar sync to my phone.
I thought I had both set up correctly as I have my gmail account on both but it does not seem to be adding my appointments to my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Please try using these instructions ( Setting up Google Sync with your iOS device - Google Mobile Help ) to setup a GMAIL account. This should resolve your issue.

When I open calendar it shows the current month with no appointments visible although I know there should be some. If I swipe to next month then back again to the current month the appointments then appear. Why doesn't it show them when the calendar is opened?

Thank you for your help I followed the instructions but it doesn't seem to be syncing with the Gmail calendar I'll have to keep playing with it.
