Quick backup question

When I connect my ipad it backs up to the computer. Does it back up everything, including my documents in Page and Goodreader? Is there a good 3rd party backup program that backs up everything on the ipad so that if it is lost, stolen or breaks I do not lose this information and can restore it to the replacement.

I hope you get a more helpful answer than mine but iTools is a great program for seeing exactly what is on your iPad. I checked Goodreader and it shows me all my files, not sure about Pages, as I am not seeing all my documents. I have not as yet used iTools to back up my iPad and hopefully someone will post to confirm you can do so.
