Removing People from Chat Box

I only have certain people that I Chat with and would like only them in the Chat Box. On the PC, it is very easy to limit who you want, but on the iPad, it seems that is must be near impossible. Has anyone figured it out? I've researched everywhere I can think of to no avail. Don't want to delete them as friends, just out of the Chat Box. Thanks for the help!

Facebook chat?

The official app doesn't appear to have this feature. You 'might' be able to make it work using the site in Safari, or perhaps one of the third part Facebook apps has this feature.
