Apple to release 3 iPad models in 2017 according to analyst.webp

According to highly credible KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to launch three new iPads in 2017, and an OLED iPad in 2018 reports MacRumors.

Kuo said in a new research report that Apple is set to launch a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro model in 2017, as well as a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and a “low cost” 9.7-inch iPad.

“If the iPad comes in a larger size, such as a 10.5-inch model, we believe it will be helpful to bid for tenders within the commercial and education markets,” said Kuo.

Kuo does not mention the 7.9-inch iPad mini, which many speculate could be on the way out due to the popularity of the 5.5-inch iPhone Plus models.

Aside from the aforementioned three new iPad models that Kuo thinks Apple will release in 2017, he also says that there will be “revolutionary” changes for the iPad in 2018. Kuo expects Apple to make “radical” changes to the iPad form factor design, and also to switch to AMOLED displays.

“We believe the new iPad model will offer new selling points through radical form factor design and user behaviour changes, which could benefit shipments,” said Kuo of the 2018 iPad.
