Running server on iPad without jailbreak

Hello everyone!
I wondered if it was possible to run a server with database on an iPad, so you can connect to it over a local network.
I found some possible answers, but they always include jailbreaking the iPad, and that is something that I rather not do when making this app.

So, if anyone can help me, it would be nice!
