Safari address bar suggests websites :(

when typing in the address bar of safari it gives a list of 'suggested' websites in a pop up underneath....

Problem is that it's no use at all.... even when I type in the first w of a www address it produces a list - but of coure the list is meaningless.

It seems to get this list, which is reasonably the same all the time from a kid of random selection of my favourites.

Anyway to control / delete / edit this list that comes up ?

It's actually rather clever and is a history of recently accessed sites. But don't type the www part - start typing elsewhere - i.e. don't start iPad Forum but rather just ipadforums.net. Then it will provide a much more meaningful list of suggestions!!

I don't know whether clearing the Safari History file would do this - there's an option in the Bookmarks drop down for this - I'm loathe to try myself because I'd lose my history file and I need that a lot..but might be worth a try.

Let me know the outcome, if possible.

Nope - clearing the whole cache, history, cookies thing does not work.
