Safely Remove Hardware

I was told there was an ipod issue where you had to click on safely remove hardware to disconnect your ipod, or else it would corrupt and ruin the ipod. I have my new ipad plugged into the usb, but when I go to the safely remove hardware icon on the bottom toolbar, it does not list the ipad. Does that mean it's ok to just unplug it and not worry about the safely remove thing?????? I don't want to ruin my ipad!

Think they meant you to watch for the box at the top of iTunes to display the message that it's safe to disconnect.
Just wait for the synching to finish. If you pull it mid sync then theres trouble....
