Saving Songs on iPad3

Is there a way to save MP3's to the iPad?

I have 1,000's of songs on my home PC but the iPad is linked to my work PC. There is not enough space on the work PC to duplicate the library. Honestly, I don't want it there anyway.

I tried using my Dropbox account but there doesn't appear to be a way to save the files independent of Dropbox with its limited storage. There isn't enough storage room in DropBox online for the library anyway.

Is there a music player app that I can save the files with and not have to keep everything in Dropbox?
