screen bezel

What is up with the huge bezel on this thing? Unless they were saving room to have a directional pad and some extra buttons, it seems very unnecessary. Last time a portable device had 1+" thick bezel around the screen was back when big 10 pound laptops came with 12" screens.

Oh Bezel? I did not know thats what that was called. I think it was made big so you could hold it better.
