Samurai BloodShow is a new iOS game from SEGA (billed, worryingly, as “comically viciousâ€!) which takes the tower defence genre all the way back to twelfth-century feudal Japan. In the game, the player takes on the role of a general as he builds an army of katana-wielding warriors, horsemen, sorcerers and (it says here!) scantily clad samurai, and then mobilises them effectively in order to defend the general’s honour. Apparently decapitations a-plenty are the order of the day as Samurai BloodShow is played out in all its (mildly) gory glory across 100 levels. By winning battles, players get to earn rarer, more powerful warriors, which they can build into their deck. Warriors can also be obtained as in-app purchases. For multiplayer action, you can either face-off against a nearby rival samurai general (or one of your mates!) via local Bluetooth, or challenge players across the globe via Game Center.
