Of course, just about everyone reading this forum will have the Apple equipment, and will benefit from an AirPlay equipped AV receiver.
Most of the better known names in home theatre have equipment that is AirPlay equipped so, as with most electronics these days, you pick your price point and dive in. For us people on the Apple forums, I'd say there would have to be compelling reasons NOT to specify it.
