Smart cover lock / unlock

None of this applies to the new iPad correct? Instead of a smart cover lock there is a restrictions button. I have tried everything to get this thing to go to sleep with the case close.

This was my IPad 2 and it was my Caseen Smart Cover case, which was defective. It was not my device.
