Something strange with Youtube

I'd be grateful for some ideas here.

I have a youtube account. When I watch my own videos on my PC it shows my username under the video.

When I watch them on my ipad my 'username' shows as my youtube user ID, which is a random mix of letter and numbers chosen for me when I set up youtube.

Everyone else's usernames on youtube ipad are the same as when I view them on my PC.

Anyone know anything about this?

I got to set up my Youtube username, but not my user ID.

There's a lot of talk online about changing usernames, but nobody seems to mention user IDs.
