Stopped working

Last night the 'slide to unlock' stopped working. I cant get into my iPad mini.It's 8 months old and I'm not happy. What to do???

Have you tried a hard reset? Press and hold the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. When the iPad restarts, see if you can unlock the iPad. If not, a visit to an Apple store may be in order.
