Sudden loss of battery staying power:help

Does closing apps really make such a difference on the battery?

There are 59 apps in the Multitaskbar, and yet does the battery still last a good 10h when connected to wifi. Though of those only Mail, Radio and IM+ connect to the Internet.

It should depend entirely on what apps are in the background. If one of them uses GPS, then the impact could be larger. If one of them is in the middle of a big download, bigger impact.

I also have suspicions about PrintCentral / Print n Share. It has to be doing something in background to work.

Most apps just freeze in RAM, and only four or five will actually be in RAM. The rest have been removed, and had their run states recorded for when you relaunch them. That's why the older apps take nearly as long to launch as starting them for the first time, while the last couple of apps you've launched spring back to life almost instantly.
