Syncing iPhone to Mac and iPad???...HELP!!

I know I'm a noob to all apple. But with that said I'm having a nightmare trying to sync the contacts to my Mac and iPad. Every time I connect my phone to the Mac, the Mac overwrites any iPhones contacts I've added....How do I stop this as its driving me nuts!
All I want to do is get my iPhone contacts on my Mac and iPad. That's all. Anyone help me?

If you're trying to use iTunes stop. Turn off all the syncing you've set up in the Info tab.

Now set up iCloud on all thee devices.
