The "Anything Goes" thread

Talking music. BBC2's Queen documentary is fascinating. Part 2 tonite promises to be fab.

Is it really 20 years since Freddie Mercury died?

Indeed it was. So very sad, quite a remarkable person. Big Queen fan.

Then there is this:

How was everyone's (some people's) holiday weekend?

We rediscovered the beach that we live near and actually got in the water. First time since the oil leak/spill last year.

Also cooked another roast on the smoker. Great BBQ taste. Brought some to work for lunch. Not sharing though.

Aww! You've got to share! I love BBQ! I had a great weekend but I'm feeling a little sick and headachy now! I'm thinking I was in the sun too long today! I'm watching Britains got talent.

Wow Julie,
You have evoked some childhood memories of Trinidad. We always went to the beach with a picnic on Boxing Day. We alternated yearly between a small beach on the North coast, and a very long beach, called Manzanilla, on the Atlantic coast. We used to love building sand castles and body surfing in the rollers at Manzinilla.

En rout to Manzanilla, we passed through a small town where, outside the police station?, there was a huge tree colonised by weaver birds. The birds were so called because they wove these huge pod-like nests which seemed to stay there more through luck than by sound engineering! The tree was a mass of these nests.

Our car was a huge Mercury 8.

Well, I'd best take the covers off our patio furniture, and work on the sun tan. :)

Richard you have such wonderful memories!
It's a bit the same here.
It's a very primitive and untouched paradise.
The local people are very gentle and uncomplicated.
Life is day to day.
The speed of daily life is slow and happy.
We have found our little piece of paradise.
Surrounded by jungle our lagoon it turquoise and filled with fish, coral reefs and the occasional dugong.
We don't have the bird life here you described. But our beach front trees which tower along the shore line are between three hundred and four hundred years old.

It's truly a time warp.
It's the place that time forgot.

I'm glad you still talk to us non-Aussie members though! I didn't reply in your Aussie thread in case of any Aussie abuse!

I have an auntie and cousins in Aussie!
