- It seems the sound on my ipad is not working in the nighttime. Could this be true, and if so, how do I override this strange setting? It works fine in daytime. I want to be able to listen to movie clips on Youtube 24/7.

There's one feature that can silence your iPad for a scheduled time: Do Not Disturb, in Settings. Here's a description what it does and how it can be used: iOS: Using Do Not Disturb
You will notice that this works for Facetime calls, alerts and notifications, not for something like youtube videos, but you could take a look at your settings there in any case.
