Transfer playlist from iPad to PC

How can I transfer play list on my iPad to my computer, without losing all my music. I tried this with my iPod and lost all my music, as my PC replaced the playlist on my iPod with the existing playlist on the computer.
I hope I don't have to delete playlist on my computer, so that it can be replaced with the play list on my iPad.

For transferring music you purchased in iTunes on your iPad, you can use this method: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848

Music imported from a CD or another source can't be transferred through iTunes. You could use a tool/software to do this.
