Two different iPads, one computer

Hi, I still haven`t figured it out. I have certain apps now that I downloaded where he asks the password of my girlfriend for updates and others my password. setup seperate playlists from the same library... Isn`t that only for music/ movies then and not the apps? don`t know if it makes a difference but i tunes is on a mac computer linked. Thanks J
