Untethered 4.3.1 JB redsnow problems

So , what is my first step? I'm kind of new to the iPad. I need to download a program called redsnow on my computer?

Anyone know what a carrier unlock is?

It was in the directions on that link on redmondpie for the redsnow download

Carrier unlock is only for iPhone's. If you jailbreak an iPad that is not something you have to worry about.

Ok in the video it says to download iOS for your device but I'm not sure if they mean for windows, or for my iPad. I have to do it through my pc first right? I'm a little confused on this one

You download the iOS firmware for your iPad, but you probably have to use Windows to download that file.

I hAve 4choices to download

iOS 4.3.1 for iPhone,3GS,3G,iPad
Redsnow 0.9.arc for windows
Redsnow 0.9.arc for Mac
And
iTunes blah blah blah....


I download redsnow 0.9.arc for windows right?

If iPad is already 4.3.1 Do I still need to upgrade the firmware?

Yes, download redsn0w for windows, as well as iOS 4.3.1 for iPad 1.

You still need to download the firmware, redsn0w needs the file to jailbreak.

been eyeing updating my jailbroken 4.2.1 to 4.3.1 but read about the two issues still present.

I'm an avid blackberry/android hacker but only have had my iPad for about six months. I JB it just fine and all that jazz with greenpoison back in the day.

What are the "compatibility" issues they mention in the new redsn0w links all over google for rc9? I have a wifi only iPad so the baseband issue should not be a problem either? right? no GPS issues?
