updaing within the ipad

I have Ipad2 running iOS5 I get the option now to update to 5.0.1 on the device within the settings->general->software update, my question is if I am updaing through the Ipad (not Itunes) am I going to lose all my apps currently running on the device, and what about contacts, photo's etc.?
