my ipad 3 is on ios 5.1 and i can't find any tool to jailbreak it, the only ios i found was 5.1.1
how to update it to ios 5.1.1 with the ios 6 already there, itunes won't allow me to update it to 5.1.1

I'm afraid that since Apple closed the signing window for iOS 5.1.1 on September 21st, it's no longer possible to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1. Your only choice for an upgrade is iOS 6. Since there is no jailbreak for iOS 5.1, you may want to consider upgrading to iOS 6 and waiting for a jailbreak.
