When you do option-update, it says it will Verify the update with Apple. Does that mean UDID needs to be registered?

that's what I thought..saw diff thread where a claim was made u could up then down and it would work
Btw, an additional iPad upgraded to beta 2... That makes two successful upgrades... A 16 and 64 gb wifi
To answer erick, by using update instead of restore u should not need to have your udid registered...mine were not and it worked twice for me.

You can downgrade if you have iTunes 9, Firmware Umbrella and SHSH saved to Cydia. Search the google for more details.

Apps have to be coded for iOS4x, so you can't expect too many just yet. I have had good luck with my iPhone 4 apps... Listening to a radio station as I type this--couldn't have done this before 4.2 as the app only worked while it was actually open.
Yes, anytime you upgrade or downgrade a firmware you will lose your jb.
Question for those running 4.2 beta 2. Have you tried upgrading from 4.2 beta 1 with the command-click upgrade? Was thinking about trying it. It not a big deal if I have to downgrade back to 3.2.2 and then upgrade again. Just checking if anyone's tried it yet. Still no luck with finding a way to downgrade 3.2.2 to 3.2/3.2.1. But word on the street is SHAtter is someone soon. So that should jailbreak 3.2.2 and then I can sit around and wait for 4.2 public.

Upgraded from beta 1 with shift-upgrade no problems
no problems for me either. just upgraded.
was anyone experiencing volume control bugs? it was weird, i'd watch a netflix thing and then the next time i tried to use the ipad, the volume controls would go out and i'd have to slide it on the dock and then they would work again. hopefully that got cleared up with this new beta update.
edit: apple stole the pre(o)switcher multitasking animation! so funny. ever notice how the jailbreak community writes cool customizations and then apple steals them? like multiple app pages on your home screen? had that in 1.1.1, hell, at one time on 1.1.1 i had 7 dock apps just cuz i could. or the good old days when you had to hack your iPT just to get mail? oh what fun i have with mac stuff.

I tried this last night on my iPad, (3.2.2, linked to a Win 7 PC), and the transfer failed at the very end. I reloaded 3.2.2 through restore to my blank iPad. Has anyone needed two tries to get this to work?
Edit: OK, I tried it again this afternoon and it worked fine. I'm on 4.2 now!

Can someone please PM me the link to 4.2 beta 2? Im feeling kinda Bold today..lol. I know i can google it but will bring up a ton of hits. I dont want to learn the hard way of going to a bad site to download. ;-). I already have the tiny umbrella program saved on ipad, which i will email to my desktop. I just want to go to a site where other fellow members went to get theirs. So ill know for sure itll work.
I cant lie. I am truly missing the multitasking that i had on 3.2.1 when i was jailbroke. I was using backgrounder. I know apples new multitasking isnt as true as backgrounder but i need somethin..lmao.

Hi i feel sorry for you lahhh
) , but many of us get it bekoze they are developer or have one around them …. the other than this they look around GooGoo … Many developer don’t want to spray their firmware as they can be punished by Apple
You don’t need tiny umbrella if you do the right procedure … have some post about how to update …. Yet the 4.2b2 work not so bad but some function have little bug
