USA Today has just released an updated version of its iPad app, which now includes the paper's popular Technology and Travel sections. One of the features included in the new Technology section is an all-new feature called App Insider, which provides review capsules of the latest and most popular iPad apps to arrive in the App Store. Tech Watch is a new Technology section video feature, which aggregates the latest video coverage of the tech industry, including the popular USA Today Talking Tech blog.
The app’s new Travel section content includes USA Today’s award-winning travel blogs, a dynamic airport delays map and Week in Travel high resolution photo galleries.
USA Today’s iPad app made its debut along with the iPad in April 2010, and has remained one of the most popular iPad news apps with more than 1.4 million downloads since launch. The app has received many honors over the past few months, including: Best Mobile App for Editorial Content in the 2010 MOBI Awards; Best Free Newspaper iPad edition in the Ad Age Media Vanguard Awards; and the Best Mobile Application for Utility or Business in the Mobile Excellence Awards. The app was also recognised as the top free news iPad app of the year by Apple.
