Using an Ipad as an extended desktop

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way using a vga cable to lightning connector to be able to configure it to be a second monitor like you can with other screens. If there is where can i find a cable and how can i do it. I dont really want to pay £10 for an app and would much rather buy an adapter

You can only output your iPad screen, ie. mirroring to a TV or play videos externally via Airplay. You cannot bring a screen or video back in via means of hardware. There are only app options for displaying your PC/Mac screens wirelessly.
