I have searched the ipad forums but cannot find this topic discussed, hence this message.
My ipad is: Model MD515ZP/A is a 64GB WiFi only white iPad 4. iOS 10.3.3
Well, this iPad of mine is a mystery! For months, it has persistently taken several minutes to load most web pages. So, I have done some tests this morning as follows:
I tried it from boot-up downstairs in the dining room (my fibre optic router is upstairs on an extension socket), and it took the usual few minutes to load Sainsbury's Great Prices (my test page), which is our usual experience. As is normally the case though, once the web page is loaded working within it is as fast as you would expect.
I then switched it off, took it upstairs and placed it next to my fibre optic router, turned it back on again (having before I switched it off changed the web page to something else so it was calling up Sainsburys from scratch again), and it made little difference. It still took an age.
In both cases, my wifi signal was at the maximum 3 symbols.
SO, if it wasn't anything to do with the router, as seems likely to be the case, it must just be a fault within the iPad, assuming my O2 iphone signal would not affect the iPad. If it does, it may be that the "villain" is O2. But if an internal fault, how come it was so much faster when I first had it?
I have removed several apps, to no effect. I have also cleared the cache many times, to no effect.
If nobody can give me a possible solution to this problem, I will just give up and not use my iPad for any internet stuff. It's fine with all my usual apps.
Thanks for any help or advice.
Barry
