video download quality

Hello,
If I would download films from the iTunes store (rent or buy) how would the quality be when playing it through HDMI cable to the tv?

Excellent is the word I would use, I downloaded Thor recently, from iTunes, and streamed it from my iPad to my Apple TV so that it played on my TV, the picture was great!
