VPN issue with iPad Pro

I have a PPTP VPN running on Windows 10 which works fine with my iPad 1, Google Nexus phone and Windows 7 laptop. I now have an iPad Pro which connects fine to the VPN and I can see all the internal services, but flatly refuses to connect to anything outside the VPN (e.g. trying to connect Safari to google.com fails). This all works fine on all my other devices, including the iPad 1. Anyone got any thoughts? I've tried resetting the network settings.

Yes... Unfortunately it makes no difference.

I''ve got no ideas, but I'll remind you that your iPad Pro comes with 90 days of Apple Tech support for free. I don't know if this is something they would have a ready answer for, but it might be worth a try.
