Watching TS format on iPad2

I've been watching a lot of HD content on my iPad2 (movies, sport games, etc.) in a variety of formats using AVPlayerHD app... yesterday I tried watching two games that were in a *.ts format and the syncing was way off and there was an awful lot of lag... the files played OK on my PC. I was wondering if anyone else watches videos in TS format on their iPad2 and whether they are having similar issues with TS files... I've watched some monster videos (8-10GB files) in mkv or avi format with little issue, but ts files (1 GB and above) are a problem.

Any suggestions?
