Weird MOV file situation

I have been transferring my iPad 2 videos to my Windows7 PC and they all play with Windows media player, VLC or Quicktime.
When I transfer them from my iPad Air 2 to the same PC, very few of them play no matter which media player I try.

In both cases I use the Apple cable to attach the iPad to a USB input on the PC and then drag & drop the MOV files into a folder on the PC.

Does anyone have a solution to this please?

The movies taken on the iPad Air 2 are considerably larger, and at a much higher quality, 1080p. Make sure the movie players you are using on the computer are up to date; especially the version of Quicktime.

That's all I can think of.
