I have just purchased an ipad 2 it has sim capabilities but I am just using wifi a he moment. I used to be able to send mail - suddenly without any changes the mail now generates an outbox and the outgoing mail sits there until deleted. I can receive mail no problems but cant send anymore - in saying this I have left 3 test emails in the outbox and only yesterday they miraculously sent and the outbox disappeared. Unfortunately today the outbox is back with one of my outgoing emails stuck in the outbox again! sigh
I have tried everything googled it as well to see what I can do.. I am at a loss I set the ipad up by copying my iphones settings. I am hoping someone who is in the know can help me I am desperate and so disappointed...
please help me I will be sooooooo grateful :))))

The easiest first way to try to solve ‘unexplained’ or ‘unusual’ problems with the iPad are:-

Force the offending app to close. If you have iOS 4.2 or 4.3 double-press the ‘Home’ button to bring up the multi-task bar at the bottom of the screen. Press *and hold* any icon until they start to ‘jiggle’. Then tap the top left-hand corner of the app that you want to close. It will ‘disappear’ from the list. Don’t panic - you’ve not deleted it, just closed it. Now tap the Home screen and the multi-task bar will disappear. Re-open the iPad’s app and see if the problem has resolved itself. If not, it’s on to possible solution number two!!
Restart the iPad. Press *and hold* the Power button. After a couple of seconds a slider control will appear asking you to confirm that you really want to switch the iPad off (this is all you’ll be doing). Slide the control to accept. A rotating white ‘bezel’ will appear in the iPad screen as the iPad powers down (it takes a few seconds, just like it would if you were shutting down your PC). When the screen of the iPad has gone completely blank, press *and hold* the Power button for a couple of seconds until the white Apple logo appears and the iPad starts to power up. This takes several seconds, so be patient. During the power up the automatic screen orientation function is disabled, so don’t panic. A few seconds before the power up is complete, the iPad plays a little ‘jingle’ and then you’re back to the Home screen. Restart the iPad’s app and see if the problem persists. Apple (and Forum members) recommend that you power down your iPad at least once a week, just as you might regularly completely switch off your PC. The normal procedure of just briefly pressing the Power button of the iPad merely puts it to ‘sleep’. Most Forum members have found that one of the two methods I’ve mentioned here cure a whole bunch of unexplained problems and are an easy first step to resolving most anything that happens on the iPad.

no luck ;(

Hiya TIm,
thanks so so much for trying to help me really appreciate someone taking the time :) Already had tried the restart that was my first point of call. As mentioned I have googled and googled but to no avail.... Just did the wiggle delete to shut the program and then I restarted just well thought it would help rebooted ipad2 and restarted mail....it hung for a while but sadly the OUTBOX is still showing up and the test message has not been sent.

I did mention that I had 3 messages sitting in the out box this past week and randomly they got sent!!! go figure there was no changes by me.

I did see in a forum in my google search that it could be that I have too many devices??? running does this make sense to you? SOmone also mentioned is was my mail set up - but I can easily send e-mails from iphone -
SHould I take my sim card out of my iphone and whack it into my ipad2 see if the mail in the outbox goes! I should mention that prior to this wierd outbox thing I never had an outbox icon.

SO I guess I am back to square one albeit trying the sim card option - if you think I should ;) look forward to your reply - sorry for the long winded questions I just need to get this all sorted so frustrating :(

My 'mail' page in frozen. When I touch mail icon it returns to a frozen page. Any suggestions about what I can do to escape this page

im in need of help, i have an ipad generation 1. ever since i bought the ipad, i have been encountering problems regarding downloading apps directly from the ipad....when the progress bar of the app reaches around 50%, it resets and does it over and over.

another problem, when i download a magazine app, for example gq and when i purchase and download a magazine, an error message always pops out.

i have tried upgrading the o.s and now its up to date 4.3.3, but i still am encountering the same problem..any solutions??

My iPad v.1 has locked up at the Apple start up icon. It worked fine this morning. Turned it off. Turned back on later and it's locked. I can't even turn it off. Double tapping the home button doesn't work either. Even plugging it into my PC and syncing doesn't work. It's only six months old. When I was using it this morning, all I did was check in with the Weather icon. Help!

Where did you buy it? Have you still got the receipt? Had it been a phone or something I guess I would suggest a battery pull.......but as you can't do that with an iPad, it seems taking it back may be your only option.....unless of course anyone else knows different!!

just signed up and saw my question on google but how do i find the answers on the forum?
I specifically want to know how to download photos and music from my pc to my ipad 2. the user guide says to sync the ipad and the pc but when i plug in there are no directions and at my age it doesn't come instinctually. Help.
