Go to Settings - Mails, Contacts, Calendars - Contacts - Show in App Switcher and turn it off if you prefer not to see this.

This feature shows people from your recent conversations.

I guess the purpose of it is to let you quickly re contact those people but, evidently, only via iMessage or FaceTime.

Touch one of these contacts in the "App Switcher", and you'll get the option to send a message or use FaceTime.

No, Sania, they are just people on the poster's contacts list with whom they have been in contact recently.
