Hey there Lewis! My callsign is NØIU and is also a vanity call. The last two letters of my callsign represent the place where I got my undergrad degree where this guy was the basketball coach --

The club callsign for the college is K9IU and I wanted KØIU, but the original owner still has it so I "settled" for the one I have now! I have had it since 1997 (yes, I am one of those "old school" Extras!) which was shortly after the gate was opened.

Mine is easy to figure out when you know me. I've been walking with a cane for 4 years due to a major pain in my left leg... At work they used to call me Doc cause I was the one always finding most odd solutions to technical issues on clients server. When the show started, Doc changed for Dr House... It took me a while before watching an episode, but then, I understood...

- Odd ideas that finally fix everything
- pain, a cane, and yes, pain killer
- sometimes short tempered
- guitar to help lower the pain
- no, not a weird ball on my desk but a stuffed penguin...
- often answer back with another question
- love to play friendly pranks on colleagues
- having a hard time to shave
- t-shirt, jeans and running shoes when visiting my customers... My boss hates that...
- always taking care of the most interesting case only...
- and yes, I do use a white paper board to write down ideas, for as long as I can remember

But I am a great guy and don't fool around with people ;)

Seriously, sometimes I feel that they're getting their scenario from my life... bummer!

But on a more positive note, I recently got a new treatment and the pain is almost completely gone. Hope it will stay that way...

VicoPad addict!

nice! I wanted W7LVO, but it was taken. I got my Tech license in 72 and it took me ~15 years to upgrade. :D I went to Advanced because the addtional bands made DX'ing easier. After working on electronics all day, about the only hamming I do these days is motorcycle mobile VHF & UHF.

Life sure is rough, but you do what you gotta do!

I have been working the "graveyard" shift for 6 years and my DXCC progress has really suffered since this is prime time for catching those rare ones!

My initials. People here have a problem pronouncing my name, so the call me JJK. Ha, and they think I have it easy with their Thai names..........
