Gilbert & Sullivan: Mikado (complete), D'Oyly Carte Opera Company with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, on London two-LP set from 1973. The cast is better in the 1957 recording, but my copy of that one is a bit worn.

Perhaps that belongs in the Fun Facts thread? :)

I can't choose just one favorite movement. I would guess most people like The Swan, but i'm quite fond of Fossils, Elephants, and The Cuckoo.

I like all three of them, and Kangaroos too, and I'm not "most people", because The Swan is the only part that I could easily live without.

Kangaroos is great! Yes, the best ones to me are the most satirical or humorous. It helps if you know the targets of the satire (e.g., Fossils makes fun of the conservative music establishment).

I just love Johnny Cash! His music, his character, the way he lived, how much he loved June Carter.....pretty much everything!

Me too, but i started listening hid music when he was already dead... But i got so interested in him, i think he was an extraordinary person... And how much he loved june carter made me believe again that true love can exist for people... He had his ups and downs, but he was a very strong person... In austria he didn't get that popular, his story got popular whith the film: walk the line... Which was only the beginning of my johnny cash "obsession"

Had a mixed bag this week. Just bought an iPhone 5s, so I stripped everything off my iPhone 4 16Gb and filled it up with music. Managed to get 102albums on there with space to spare.

So my week was filled with high volumes coming from Sarah Brightman (who I recently saw live in Edmonton: AWESOME), Rush (of course), Queen, Gregorian, Emerson Lake and Palmer, and a band from Toronto called The Worshyp whose 2 albums I purchased from iTunes about 6 months ago. Kingdom Earth and Evil Abounds are the album names. I think they're pretty good.
