I love the lyrics of that song. The only version I know is the one from Bette Midler. There's something new I'll have to look for and listen to.

Colleen Hewett released the song here many years before Bette Midler's version for the movie Beaches.......before quite a few versions of this song actually.....so it was hers I heard first and loved the most.

It is a wonderful song and no the lyrics haven't changed.....I was only a teenager when I first heard that song and yes in Brisbane.

And yes Colleen Hewett is an Aussie.......she was one of our early Queens of Pop!

I've been away for a while, but thankfully people are still enjoying this thread, I love going back to the beginning and reading through the suggestions of music. I have such a large eclectic taste when it comes to music, and you lot have broadened my tastes even more!!

The one that's got me totally buzzing at the moment is the U.K entry for Eurovision (sadly, I'm a closet fan of this show)

Nothing wrong with being a fan! We swear we won't watch it but it's addictive viewing. The commentary is the best. We miss Terry but Graham Norton is hilarious! Can't wait!
