What music are you listening to right now!?!?

I really like this, it's Russian, but sounds so Greek to me

Buddy Holly of course !!! I feel nostalgic because I used to play his songs in primary school on a really old electric guitar and a Fender Tweed deluxe amp! That was back in 2010, god my primary school had the oldest but coolest stuff

A Commodore 64 a day keeps the Apple II away!

That tweed Deluxe is a really sweet sounding amp, in years to come you will chase that warmth and tone (if you keep playing).

I've loved Balalaika Favorites for decades. I have this historic recording on LP, CD, and in my iPad's Music app. Wonderful music, fabulous folk orchestra, superb sound quality. For some reason, Mercury decided to make up new names for most of the pieces instead of translating the real Russian names, which makes it an interesting challenge to find alternative performances on YouTube.

This album was a huge best-seller when it came out, and quite influential. My personal favorite is "In The Moonlight;" it must have been Pete Seeger's, too, as he picks a banjo version of it on the 1963 Weavers Reunion at Carnegie Hall album.

Today is a busy day for me, so music will reflect the vigour and haste I shall be hopefully possessing today

So with that in mind.........my first album will be System of a Down - Mezmerize followed by System of a Down - Hypnotize......... Start off softly ha ha

Fall Out Boy - My songs know what you did in the dark.
My latest favourite song. So pleased they came back together.

"The Poor Ditching Boy" by Solas.

The half of me that's rooted in Nova Scotia turns to Celtic / folk tunes when the world starts turning too fast.

Here's some background on the group.

Christie Moore's arrangement of "Ride On" is another favourite. Whenever I need grounding, this does it for me.

Hope you enjoy the selections.
