What's new

Whats your favourite ipad app?

I'm a newbie too, but so far have found the following apps very helpful:

QuickOffice
Facebook (duh...LOL)
Oxford Dictionary
Real Solitaire (the $ version) (this is the only game I play...obviously not a gamer) :D
The Recipe Box
Calculator
CNN, Weather, etc.
Medical/Merck Manual

I would also love to hear what other newbies find helpful. ;)

Can't limit it to just one.
The ones I use constantly are:
GoodReader - Document reader and organiser
Evernote - Notes synced wirelessly between all my machines
Pulse - News reader for News channels and Papers
River ofNews- RSS feeds
BlogShelf - Blogs I keep track of.

One of my favorite things I like about my IPad is the ability to save things from Safari. For example, my favorite recipe site is called onetsp.com and if I search for it on Safari I can save it to my homepage on the IPad and I have all my recipes for easy use in the kitchen. I'm sure I'm not explaining this well, very NOT tech savvy!

Just down loaded Firefox but it wants to do some special synching...argh!!! Will have to wait till I have more time and brainpower to deal with that...LOL.

Gonna try Pool Bar and Drawing Pad...that should keep me busy for a while. :)

Ever note would make this so much better for you.. I just downloaded it and it is amazing

I don't think of apps in terms of "favourites", but the ones I find myself using most often are:

- Dropbox
- GoodReader
- Mashable
- Flipboard (my app of choice for browsing Facebook and other sites)
- Friendly (when I need to do stuff on Facebook)
- SkyGrid (personalized news/feed aggregator)
- ForScore (music score eReader)

Chapters for writing

IA Writer for writing

Netflix for movies

TuneIn for radio

Reeder for RSS feeds

Read It Later for easy saving and reading

Dropbox for syncing and organization

IMDB for quick movie reference

Kindle for reading books

CNN/USA Today/New York Times/BBC/CBS for news

Textfree for texting

Wunderlist HD for tasks and to-do listing

Amazon for shopping

Many others...but those I use most often.

Some goof around apps I use are:

Evernote
U-Verse
Redbox
Groupon (need to save some $$ with this addiction ;-)
Angry Birds and Flight Control... LOL

Anyone who plays cards or solitaire should buy Card Shark Collection Deluxe. Two bucks for 55 card games and the best interface ever in a solitaire game. You feel like Tom Cruise in Minority Report when you're playing.

There's a free sample with half a dozen games, but for two bucks... the artist who created it deserves our support.

Thanks for the suggestions, may give that a try. I love a card game called Hand & Foot, would love to have that but the reviews are not good....hope they use the feedback to improve the app. :(

iBooks and Goodreader for reading books and PDFs respectively.

For fun, I like the Reversi (Othello) game app.

I use mine for so many things, a few faces are:

Upad (notes at work, school)
Pandora (music)
Vevo (music videos)
Pulse (news)
Infinity Blade (game)

Just to name a few

Lots of things.. Can't name just one.
iBooks
Angry Birds (aced all levels, now trying to get into the top ten online)
Angry Birds Seasons
Flight Control
Youtube (streaming movies to TV sometimes)
Fieldrunners
Office HD
IMDB (all the time)
Touchpad (control the mac mini in my HTS)
Real Racing 1 & 2
Need For Speed Shift
Weatherbug
Let's Golf 1 & 2

Movies
TV Episodes

What I use most are web browsers, I have 11 installed but three I use most.
For file management, FileBrowser and DocsToGo.
To control my PC, SplashTop Remote.
Magazines on Zinio.
Books on iBooks, Kindle, Kobo and Stanza.
Drawing with SketchBook, ArtStudio and iPocketDraw.
Slingbox to control a tv and listen on the iPad
Various radio stations that have their own apps.

Quite a few apps for different tasks such as the AppleRemote to control my AppleTV.
