I went for the 32 gb iPad 2 black version. But in retrospect I might as-well have gone for the 16 gig, as I got plenty of space left.

I think gaming apps use more memory. You might want to consider popping for the extra 100$ if you are a big gamer.

Memory on iPads - 256MB and 512MB on iPads 1 & 2 respectively - are fixed. The 16, 32 or 64GB options refer to *storage* and make no difference as to how an app runs in *memory*.
