I just got my iPad 4 (128 gig). What is the difference between the 16, 32, 64, and 128 and which one is better in terms of durability? How long can an iPad last under normal usage ?

Except for the storage capacity, the different iPad 4 models are identical and are equally durable. Unless the iPad develops a fault, you can use it indefinitely. The battery is rated to retain 80% of it's initial capacity after 1,000 full charge cycles. That's equal to several years of intensive use when charging it once a day.

What Sci here said and in addition, as the iPad is completely solid state it should outlast the computers of yesteryear......it's a really good long term investment IMHO.
