Tried it, and glad to say it worked.

Used the xD card out of my camera, put a document in the Scanner, touch scan and Mem device, and it saved the doc to the card.
Switched my PC on and put card into my reader, opened in pictures.

So yes it does save to mem card without PC.

It now gives me an alternative to the cheaper HP printer I was looking at that only scanned direct to the PC

Don't forget its the OJET 6500A Plus, not the 6500,
Mine was £89 from PCWorld
