Writer, cartoonist & musician obsessed with the iPad

Hi all! I've been craving an iPad before it was announced. I mainly wanted one for e-book reading (I also read books on my iPhone) but when I got my iPad, discovered I could also use it to outline and write my articles and books, as an artist's sketchpad, songwriting and recording, create my cartoons....augh, the list goes on and on.

I LOVE MY IPAD. It drives me nuts when people say it's for people who consume content and not create content.

I'm iPadGirl on Twitter.

Delighted to have discovered this community!

Cool, I also use mine to create music, drawings, documents, notes, todos.

What apps do you use?

I'll also beg you to add to the thread "Show Your Art".

NumbLock: Sounds like you're a creative type, too. :-)

My fave art app: Sketchbook Pro

My fave notes app: Notebooks (though I'm trying many others & posting reviews)

My fave writing app: Pages

I'll check out your art thread - thanks for pointing it out!

Hi Debbie,

I also use SketchBook Pro. I wish they had a few more undos though.

I just wish that there was a note taking app that allowed all the brush and drawing options like SketchBook Pro but allowed formatting text and such like Pages. So I export from SBP and import into Pages and Keynote - which isn't ideal, but it works.

Yes, so far I haven't found a note-taking app that has BOTH the art and note-taking features I want. Thanks for the SYA link!

Do a search for David Hockney +iPad. He was an early adoptee and there are a number of articles about work on the pad.

Writer,musician and cartoonist.......so jealous.
I'm sure successful/survived father of daughters is worth a few brownie points :)
