Used to watch you tube through safari all the time. Since ios6, nothing. Also other sites not working either.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance

Youtube works fine in Safari for me.

Try going to Settings > Safari and Clear Cookies and Data.

You'll have to re-enter all your website passwords, the ones that usually remember you, if you do this.

I prefer the mobile site at m.youtube.com ; however the desktop site also works, though with a few quirks, and unlike the mobile site it will show (but not play) videos that are not mobile/iOS compatible.

I was having this issue too, when using the YouTube.com desktop version. I tried the m.youtube.com mobile version and it works!!! Yay! Now I won't have to deal with crappy YouTube apps!

Tried what you said. Still no joy.

Okay, maybe I should've asked you if you tried these first:

-------------------

When you have problems with an app it's a good idea to clear it from RAM.

Close/Clear the app: With the problem app closed, double tap on the Home button to get the multitask bar. Tap and hold on any icon in the bar until they jiggle, then tap the minus sign on the problem app. This will remove it from RAM and insure a clean start the next time you launch the app.

If that does not work try a restart,

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart.

Working. Many thanks. It was the reset that fixed it.

Many thanks. :o)

I'm having a similar problem. Since upgrading to iOS6 everytime I try to watch a youtube video (whether it is the website, a video embedded online, or a video app) I always get a message saying "this video is currently unavailable.

I've done everything suggested in this thread, downloaded jasmine, tried it in Chrome, and nothing works.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Is the bandwidth of your Internet service sufficient to run streaming video?
