Close the App in the multitask bar -> click the home button twice search for the youtube app and touch it for longer than a second and touch the red sign in its upper left corner.
If that doesn't work, try a reboot.

You must have a really strong internet connection for youtube to work correctly.

You can also open YouTube in safari. It works for me very well
